While the Fort Langley Canada Day committee organizers struggled to pull the plug on the Birthday Party on the street because of COVID-19, community groups agreed that the “Show Must Go On!”

There was no doubt in the minds of the team at the Langley Centennial Museum that connecting with the community to build Canada Day Spirit called for extraordinary measures and together with the event team that organizers the Willoughby Canada Day celebrations joined together to put together one of Canada’s best online and Virtual celebration experiences on the Township of Langley Website.

Top notch performers were asked to contribute virtual materials and some really good video production was undertaken. Other volunteers organized “how to activities” and soon Langley’s Canada Day celebration came together in a Metro Vancouver Virtual Party that will go down in history as one of the most unique and encompassing virtual experiences ever organized.

While everyone knows that the birthday cake and the people on the street will be missed, the connection to the community is strongly achieved.
