It’s Glisha’s 9th straight year to lead the singing of O’ Canada here in Fort Langley this July 1st. She started very young at 8 years old in 2009 and has since then has endeard herself to many Fort Langley Canada Day Celebration attendees.
Glisha Dela Cruz is a 15 year old local artist with an angelic voice and a profound passion in music. She joined an international modeling agency at age 4 and started performing at age 5. She has performed in many events including the popular Cranberry Festival, the Surrey International World Music Marathon, the B.C Summer Games Opening Ceremony, and has been performing throughout the years in various local concert productions and community events in B.C. She released her first CD entitled “Glisha, from the Heart” in 2012, part proceeds of which went to the “imagine1day” fundraising campaign of her school for the kids of Ethiopia.
Glisha, a straight A Grade 10 student, provides one of the soprano voices at her school’s Senior Choir which recently bagged a back-to-back Gold at this year’s Cantado Festival and Kiwanis Festival.
Glisha will give 20 more minutes of song performances at the Main Stage right after the Welcoming ceremonies with the Township of Langley Mayor, and while Canada Day Cake is being served at the museum Court Yard.
